Privacy Policy

AtlasBrain is a local-first memory archive. The whole point is that your data stays with you. This policy explains, in plain terms, what little we do — and mostly do not — with your information.

Last updated: 14 September 2026

1.Who we are

AtlasBrain is operated by Bruno Tougeiro, founder of the AtlasBrain project. Products and services will be brought under a Portuguese single-member limited company ("sociedade unipessoal por quotas") prior to the launch of any paid service. Until then, Bruno Tougeiro is the data controller responsible for this website.

For any privacy question, contact support@atlasbrain.io.

2.The one-sentence version

AtlasBrain processes your data on your device. Your memories, notes, and the encryption keys that protect them are stored locally and never transmitted to us. We have no account system, no analytics, and no way to read the contents of your vault — even if compelled.

3.What we collect

Essentially nothing. The AtlasBrain application does not require an account, does not collect personal data, and does not "phone home." Specifically:

4.What the website processes

Our website (atlasbrain.io) is a static marketing site. It contains no forms, no logins, and no cookies set by us. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may process connection-level data such as your IP address as part of serving the page and protecting it from abuse, as described in Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not use this data to identify or track individual visitors.

5.What happens when you download or update

When you run the installer or the in-app update command, your computer contacts our download server (get.atlasbrain.io) to fetch the binary and its integrity checksums. We process only what is technically necessary to deliver that file. We do not store a persistent profile of your downloads.

6.Email support

If you write to us at support@atlasbrain.io, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your query. We never sell or share it with third parties.

7.The Sovereign sync tier (future)

When the paid sync feature launches, it will add a cloud component. It will remain end-to-end encrypted: sync will store only ciphertext, which we cannot decrypt. We will update this policy before that feature ships to describe the additional, minimal processing involved.

8.Your rights (GDPR / RGPD)

Because we hold almost no personal data, exercising your rights is correspondingly simple. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. If you have a request, email support@atlasbrain.io and we will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority — in Portugal, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

9.Children

AtlasBrain is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10.Changes to this policy

If we change this policy — for example, when the sync tier launches — we will post the updated version here with a revised "last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted.
